Augsut, 7 - 9, 2010 - ILR-SD Fleece Judging Clinic at the Brownderosa, Sparta, WI. See the ILR-SD show website for information. Fran is the instructor. Tasha is hoping to begin as a fleece judging apprentice.
July, 2010 - Fran will judge the Ohio State Fair Llama Fleece Show. Ali will judge the St. Croix County Fair.
June, 2010 - Lama Market in Menominee, WI. An ILR-SD show. Another trailer load full for showing. And, another trailer load of Champions, coming home.
May, 2010 - Lamapalooza in Faribald, MN. A dual ALSA and ILR-SD show. We'll take a trailer load.
May, 2010 - Badgerland Sweepstakes in Jefferson, WI. We'll enter both the Futurity and the ALSA Shows. In between, Fran will clerk the Fleece judging.
April, 2010 - Escabroso and Mercurio enter the show ring for the first time at the Heartland Llama Show, Webster, IA. Also going will be Taena and Constanza.
April, 2010 - We started the show year by loading up our babies and going to Celebration, in Oklahoma City, OK. Always a big event - we start the show year with a bang.
February, 2010 - Fran will be the main speaker at the Wisconsin Organization of Llama Enthusiasts (ORGLE) Rendezous conference on Llama Fiber.
January, 2010 - Fran will be judging the Lamas of Minnesota Shorn Fleece show (ILR-SD) in Ottomwa, MN and speaking at the winter conference on how to market llama fleece.
October, 2009 - Nyura won Grand Champion Single Coat Shorn Fleece and then, Best of Show - Shorn Fleece, at the Varapai County Fair, Llama Show, Parks, AZ. Nostradamus won Reserve Champion, right behind Nyura. Fran entered two hand knit hats, which took first and second place, and then, Best of Show for Fleece Products. A surprise. We were just trying to support the Fleece Show.
September, 2009 - Chabela was purchased by Sherri and Wil Tallmon and Sophera was purchased by Holly Russell, Redmond, OR. We are very thankful these two girls are going to good homes. Thank you Sherri, Wil, and Holly. Taena placed second in Class 4, Traditonal Females; Mephisto placed third in Class S4 Suri Males; and Nostradamus placed in the top ten, Class 1, Traditional Males, and, Constanza placed 11th in a class of 25.
August, 2009 - A quiet time at the farm, caring for crias, mom's, and the herd. Births are expected, soon.
July, 2009 - Fran taught the first ILR-SD Llama Fleece Judging clinic in Sparta, WI at the Brownderosa, with 5 people completing the judges program, one to be certified as a llama fleece judge and 4 entering the fleece judging program. Fran also taught the largest llama fleece judging clinic ever held by a show association, at Hinterland, Sisters, OR. Eight people entered the llama fleece judging program, as a result of this clinic.
July, 2009 - Elwood Blues and his dam, HCLA Karma were purchased from Wendell and Ileen Miller, Red Deer Canada. We expect him to add to the quality of our herd, by bringing in some new blood lines - but, first we are going to enjoy showing him. A silver gray, suri male, purchased in partnership with Tom and Barb Parsons. Check him out.
July, 2009 - Fran judged Sauk County Fair, Pierce County Fair, and the Great Northern WI State Fair in Chippewa Falls.
June, 2009 - Llama Market, Menominie, WI: An ILR-SD show. Fa`iz won Grand Champion Medium Wool Female - she now is a Halter Champion. Arbolado won Grand Champion Nonbreeder. Nostradamus out for the first time, placed second in Juvenile Heavy Wool Male. Sophera placed as Reserve Grand Champion Suri Female.
May, 2009 - Kettle Moraine Klassic, Adell, WI: An ALSA show. Taena again placed Grand Champion Heavy Wool Female. We took Constanza out for the first time - she placed second in Juvenile Heavy Wool female. Lots more crias! Check out the Cria Page, under Virtual Pasture

May, 2009 - Badgerland Sweepstakes, Jefferson, WI: Sugar River Llamas took the show by storm. Mephisto, Fa`iz, and Chabela won the LFA sponsored Futurity classes. In the ALSA show, Sophera placed as Reserve Grand Champion as Juvenile Suri Female. Fa`iz was Medium Wool Female Grand Champion. Taena was Grand Champion Heavy Wool Female, with Chabela as Reserve Grand Champion Heavy Wool Female. Yes, this was a good show.
April, 2009 - Celebration Futurity, Oklahoma: SRLL Chiquita won the Traditional/Silky Younger Female class. This is the 5th year in a row that Sugar River Llamas has brought home a World Futuirty Class Champion. SRLL Fa`iz placed second in the older Traditional/Silky Female class. With only two llamas entered by Sugar River Llamas, this was a great show!
